From hiking up Mount Herman to horseback riding, playing golf and jogging and biking along the New Santa Fe Trail, there are a bevy of outdoor activities available in the Tri-Lakes area.
Green spaces in the area include Limbach Park, For Run Regional Park and the memorably-named Dirty Woman Creek Park, Monument's largest park named after a pioneer woman who lived in an unkempt shack along the creek.
The 14-mile New Santa Fe Trail begins in Palmer Lake and spans south through Monument and through the Air Force Academy Grounds before connecting to the Pikes Peak Greenway on its way into Colorado Springs proper.
Just south of Monument, is the newest and largest climbing facility in the Colorado Springs area, CityRock. Here, seasoned rock climbers and novices alike can experience indoor and outdoor climbing activities, instruction and training by purchasing a day pass (about $15 per person) or monthly membership.
Nearby, the Colorado Sports and Events Center calls itself “Southern Colorado's premier facility for sports and entertainment.” The complex plays home to various recreational leagues and activities and features both an NHL-sized ice rink and a large turf field.
There are a limited number of religious centers and worship places in the Ute Pass area of Colorado Springs.

While the Ute Pass area may have limited shopping there are plenty of places in the surrounding area to shop. Spend the day at the Manitou Springs Historic District Shops browsing and dining at great local restaurants. University Village has even more chances for you to get in some retail therapy with some of your favorites like Kohl's and Costco.
